Construction Director – Large‑Scale Rail Infrastructure

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead a large‑scale rail infrastructure programme in Dubai, encompassing tunnels, viaducts and iconic stations. The role requires strategic planning, leadership of multidisciplinary teams and direct client interaction to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multi‑functional site supervision team delivering a rail project with tunnels, viaducts and stations, meeting client specifications.
• Manage stakeholder interfaces across the client organisation and relevant government departments.
• Oversee overall construction management, control and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Monitor contractor performance and progress against schedule, ensuring adherence to time, cost and quality targets.
• Guarantee the highest standards of health and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet current and future commitments while maximising opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum BSc/BEng or equivalent; Chartered status preferred.
• 20+ years of experience, with at least 7 years in a similar large‑scale rail or heavy civil construction role.
• Proven track record managing complex infrastructure projects, including tunnels, viaducts and public realm works.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to report to senior executives and build client relationships.
• Demonstrated capability to mobilise and lead large, multidisciplinary site teams.
• Experience in project controls, quality assurance and health & safety management.
