Construction Section Head - Civil

About the role

Archirodon, an international EPC contractor active for more than half a century in Energy, Marine, Infrastructure and Defence & Security projects, is looking for a Construction Section Head - Civil to join its Oil, Gas and Chemicals Division. The role leads all civil construction activities on a project in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all civil construction activities in line with project specifications, approved plans and schedules, and ensure day-to-day operations follow the approved plan.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Procurement, Commissioning and other disciplines, and ensure timely availability of manpower, materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, international codes and HSE regulations.
• Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, work procedures and execution plans before construction starts.
• Monitor progress against the schedule, implement corrective actions and supervise subcontractors for quality, safety, productivity and schedule.
• Take part in construction meetings, solve site execution problems with Engineering, and enforce the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system in live plant environments.
• Prepare and review manpower plans, resource allocation, productivity reports and progress updates, and ensure civil works are ready for handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas or EPC construction projects.
• At least 5 years in a senior supervisory or Construction Section Head role.
• Proven experience on ADNOC or major GCC Oil & Gas projects.
• ADNOC approval or prior ADNOC leadership experience is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Strong experience managing civil construction, large site teams and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of construction sequencing, site execution strategies and productivity management.
• Understanding of ADNOC standards, international codes, HSE regulations, risk assessments and PTW systems.
• Leadership, coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure in fast-track projects.
