Consultant Gastroenterology (ERCP, EUS & IR Biopsy)

About the role

The Abu Dhabi Region seeks an experienced Consultant Gastroenterology to lead clinical services in ERCP, EUS and IR Biopsy. The role involves direct patient care, supervision of junior staff, and active participation in departmental initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and initiatives.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment and ensuring continuous medical coverage.
• Lead ward rounds, review inpatient and outpatient cases, and ensure timely documentation.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and assume responsibility for their patient care.
• Perform ERCP, EUS and IR Biopsy procedures, obtain informed consent and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Review investigation results, modify treatment plans and liaise with other specialties as needed.
• Participate in performance management, peer review and productivity assessments.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Gastroenterology.
• Board certification (American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, or any recognized Western board) and fellowship or additional certification in Gastroenterology.
• Minimum 5 years post‑specialization clinical experience.
• Current national medical license and proof of yearly CME.
• Qualification from Tier 1 or Tier 2 as defined by SEHA.
