Consultant Pain Medicine (American Board, CCT)

About the role

A leading hospital in the UAE seeks an experienced Consultant in Pain Medicine to deliver comprehensive multidisciplinary pain care. The role involves assessing and managing acute, chronic and complex pain, performing interventional procedures, and collaborating with multiple specialties to develop individualized treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with acute, chronic and complex pain conditions.
• Develop evidence‑based, individualized pain management plans.
• Perform image‑guided procedures such as nerve blocks, joint injections and epidural techniques.
• Evaluate treatment‑resistant cases and coordinate care with anesthesiology, neurology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, oncology and rehabilitation teams.
• Monitor outcomes, adjust plans and ensure high standards of patient safety and documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, research, teaching and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology or a related specialty.
• American Board, UK CCT/CCST or equivalent Western qualification with Consultant‑level experience.
• Strong experience in assessment and management of complex acute and chronic pain.
• Demonstrated expertise in interventional pain procedures.

Required skills
