Contracts and Commercial Manager

About the role

Aurora Prime Investment is hiring a Contracts and Commercial Manager in Dubai to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction and development projects, from pre-contract through execution and final account close-out. The role covers cost control, tendering, variations, claims, payment certification, commercial negotiations and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Contract administration: review contracts, tender documents, BOQs, scopes of work and commercial terms; administer construction and consultancy contracts; prepare and review contractual correspondence and notices.
• Cost control and reporting: monitor budgets, commitments, actual costs, forecasts and performance; prepare cost reports, cash-flow and cost-to-complete reports; review interim payments, certificates, retention and advances.
• Tendering and procurement support: commercial bid evaluation, comparison, clarification and negotiation.
• Variations and claims: assess contractor and consultant variations, change orders and claims; maintain variation and change-control registers; advise on cost and time claims.
• Risk, negotiation and close-out: identify and mitigate commercial risks, lead negotiations with contractors, consultants and stakeholders, and manage final account negotiations and close-out.
• Maintain commercial and contractual records, provide regular management reports and coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, quantity surveyors and finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management or a related field.
• Minimum 8-12 years of commercial and contracts management experience in construction, real estate or project management; strong UAE experience preferred.
• Experience with a PMC, cost consultancy, developer or client-side organisation highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction contract administration.
• Experience with major residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use projects is an advantage.
• MRICS/RICS or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
