Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry

About the role

Four Points in Sharjah is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie Pastry. The role covers preparing special meals and substituting items, cooking according to recipes and quality standards, and supporting the kitchen team and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items, and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Maintain food logs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods
• Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials and inform Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
• Anticipate and address guests' service needs
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating employees, and act as a role model
• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training, and ensure a clean, professional appearance and confidentiality

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree preferred
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to lift up to 25 pounds
