Director of Airport Operations

About the role

The Director of Airport Operations will lead day‑to‑day airport activities in Abu Dhabi, ensuring safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance across all functional areas. This part‑time, hybrid position blends on‑site presence with remote coordination to support seamless airport performance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate terminal and airside operations, monitoring service levels and resolving issues in real time.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, manage operational plans and budgets, and oversee resource allocation.
• Collaborate with airlines, ground handling, security, and regulatory authorities.
• Analyse performance data, drive process improvements and uphold high passenger experience standards.
• Maintain compliance with safety, security and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in airport or aviation operations with strong knowledge of safety, security and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Solid background in budgeting, resource planning and cost optimisation.
• Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management, Operations or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus.
