Document Controller

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Document Controller in Dubai within the construction sector. The role manages project documentation such as drawings, correspondence, transmittals, RFIs and submittals, keeping them controlled, compliant and accessible.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log and distribute incoming project documents, and check, approve and file them (soft and hard copies) according to company and project procedures
• Maintain up-to-date records of drawings and other project documentation, and track submissions so reviewed documents are returned on time
• Control document versions and revisions, protect confidential information and follow document control procedures
• Coordinate with design, procurement, QA/QC, site and project management teams, and prepare transmittals and correspondence logs
• Support colleagues with document searches and retrieval requests
• Use document control software or tools (e.g. Aconex, Procore, MS Excel, SharePoint) and keep hard copy and digital files organised

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience as a Document Controller, preferably in construction, engineering or the aluminium/glass industry
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and strong English verbal and written communication
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of document control systems
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Familiarity with drawings, technical submittals and transmittals
