Draftsman - Water Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Stantec is hiring a draftsman for water infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role covers producing civil engineering drawings for sewerage, stormwater, drainage, irrigation and water infrastructure, and keeping them accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Produce drawings for sewerage, stormwater, drainage, irrigation and water infrastructure projects.
• Update and revise drawings according to engineers' comments and project requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings from site survey data and construction records.
• Review and interpret existing utility and infrastructure records.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers and other stakeholders to ensure drawing accuracy and timely delivery.
• Maintain drawing standards and documentation in line with company and client requirements.
• Use Microsoft Office and other engineering software to support project documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in Civil Engineering, Drafting or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience as a draftsman, with at least 3-5 years in the UAE.
• Experience preparing drawings for sewerage, drainage, stormwater, irrigation, pressurized networks and water infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality standards and existing utility networks is highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret as-built drawings and utility records accurately.
• Good written and spoken English and strong coordination with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in the latest versions of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.
