Electrical Engineer - Contracting

About the role

Careers International is hiring a full-time Electrical Engineer for a contracting role in Dubai. The engineer designs, develops and oversees electrical systems and infrastructure for various projects, performs site assessments, prepares project specifications and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role works within a team of engineers, architects and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution and fire alarm systems, and prepare calculations, drawings and technical reports
• Oversee installation, operation and maintenance of electrical systems on construction sites, and inspect and test them against specifications and safety standards
• Provide technical guidance to construction teams, contractors and clients
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal electrical codes and safety standards, and set up quality control procedures
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers and procurement teams, and prepare project updates and reports for clients and management
• Maintain project records and submit as-built drawings, testing reports and maintenance procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in contracting or construction
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or willingness to obtain one
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication

Required skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and ETAP
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards and industry regulations
