Electrical Engineer - High-Rise MEP Projects

About the role

Careers International is looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems for high-rise building construction projects. The engineer is responsible for designing, installing and maintaining electrical systems in line with safety codes, regulatory standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for high-rise buildings, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems and fire alarm systems, and collaborate with mechanical, plumbing and structural engineers
• Create and review electrical drawings, layouts and specifications, and ensure designs meet local codes, regulations and energy-efficiency standards
• Oversee installation so it follows approved designs, budgets and timelines, and coordinate contractors, sub-contractors and on-site teams
• Review submittals, shop drawings and material specifications, and carry out regular site inspections
• Ensure integration of electrical systems with other MEP systems and conduct testing, commissioning and troubleshooting
• Implement quality control procedures and ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards and environmental regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, especially in high-rise or large-scale construction projects
• Experience with building power distribution, lighting, emergency backup and safety systems such as fire alarms and CCTV
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and project management skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards and regulations
