Electrical Engineer – MEP

About the role

Careers International is hiring a full-time Electrical Engineer (MEP) in Dubai. The engineer is responsible for designing, installing and maintaining electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, fire alarms and low-voltage systems, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop power distribution, lighting, ELV and fire alarm systems, and prepare shop drawings, load calculations and technical submittals.
• Carry out voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis and power factor correction; review and approve designs, BOQs and specifications.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil and structural engineers, supervise installation of cabling, panels, transformers, generators and UPS systems, and work with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with UAE electrical codes, DEWA regulations and international standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE), and maintain design approval and permit documentation.
• Assist in tender preparation, budgeting and contract evaluation.
• Oversee testing and commissioning, troubleshoot power quality issues and implement energy-efficient solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4-8 years of experience in MEP electrical design and project execution.
• Familiarity with UAE electrical regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills.

Required skills

• AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux and ETAP.
• Knowledge of power distribution, ELV, lighting and fire alarm systems.
