Electrical Engineer - Project Supervision

About the role

KEO, an AEP/PMCM firm recognised as a top international design and project management and construction firm, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role provides on-site supervision and technical support for all electrical engineering aspects of a project, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and contract specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design and implementation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting and other relevant installations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards and regulations in the country where the project is located.
• Coordinate with national utility providers (electricity, water, gas, etc.) to secure timely connections, review their procedures and ensure compliance with their requirements.
• Review and approve electrical shop drawings and material submittals from contractors and subcontractors against project specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and adherence to approved plans and schedules.
• Inspect and test wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, grounding systems and other installations at various stages of construction, and investigate and resolve defects with contractors.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests and non-conformances.
• Enforce safety protocols, carry out safety inspections and address safety hazards on site.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team, including resolving design conflicts and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.

Required profile

• 12 years of work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience on building or apartment projects in the UAE is sought.
