Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector (E&I)

About the role

Bureau Veritas do Brasil is hiring an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector in Abu Dhabi. The role covers quality control and inspection of electrical power distribution, switchgear, control gear, instrumentation and control systems on oil and gas and petrochemical projects, including FAT and SAT of equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend all inspections with client and EPC contractor representatives for 33kV, 11kV, 3.3kV and 415V AC power distribution, instrument installations, switchgear, control gear, cathodic protection, HVAC, UPS and associated systems.
• Prepare and review method statements and ITPs with QA/QC engineers and project engineers, and write QA/QC reports on inspections, materials and non-conformances.
• Verify that corrective actions are carried out and check site drawings and documents for approval status and compliance.
• Function test control valves, SDVs and ESDVs, and ensure equipment and special tools are available and calibrated with valid certificates.
• Attend FAT and SAT of HV and LV electrical equipment and quality-check electrical materials received at site.
• Produce concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience as an inspector in oil and gas and petrochemical industries, covering new construction and brownfield modifications of 33kV, 11kV, 3.3kV and 415V power distribution systems, switchgear, control gear, distribution boards, UPS, earthing and lighting, underground cabling, cathodic protection and small power distribution systems.
• Experience interpreting and applying EPC contractor and vendor design documentation for instrumentation and control systems in DCS, including modifications to ESD, fire and gas systems and control room architecture, and new package boiler instrumentation.
• Experience liaising with EPC contractors, manufacturers and client representatives during FAT and SAT.
• Good knowledge of ISO and other international standards, and fluency in English.
