Executive Vice President Ocean Freight

About the role

The Global Head of Ocean Freight leads Toll's worldwide Ocean Freight strategy, overseeing operations, commercial performance and full P&L ownership. The role ensures delivery of high‑quality, cost‑effective, customer‑centric solutions while meeting budget and growth targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global financial strategies, manage end‑to‑end P&L, and optimise pricing and capacity utilisation.
• Collaborate with regional EVPs to design carrier partnership programmes, define core services and trade lanes, and drive volume and margin growth for FCL and LCL segments.
• Lead operational process optimisation, automation and digitalisation, set performance KPIs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Formulate procurement and pricing strategies, disseminate market intelligence and manage carrier space allocation.
• Partner with Global Sales to drive new business, provide executive sponsorship for top customers and deliver commercial training.
• Oversee global compliance with maritime regulations, lead safety initiatives and manage risk exposure.
• Talent management, development and employee engagement for Ocean Freight professionals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• 15+ years of ocean freight experience, with at least 10 years in a global or regional leadership role.
• Extensive experience in the Asia‑Pacific market is highly desirable.
• Proven success in managing large‑scale logistics operations with full P&L ownership.
• Strong data‑driven decision‑making, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of international ocean freight operations and carrier management.
• Knowledge of maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS) and compliance requirements.
• Experience with financial planning, yield management and pricing strategies.
