Graduate Engineer - Mechanical (Site Supervision)

About the role

AECOM is looking for a recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering to join its engineering team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role suits someone who wants to start a career in mechanical engineering on innovative projects within a professional corporate environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical and organised, with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing mechanical components and systems using CAD software and industry-standard tools
• Carry out technical analysis and simulations to evaluate designs and optimise performance
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications and documentation for engineering projects
• Support senior engineers in troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing solutions
• Take part in design reviews and give analytical input to improve product quality and efficiency
• Work with cross-functional teams so projects stay on schedule and meet technical specifications
• Maintain project files and documentation in line with company standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement by analysing processes and spotting optimisation opportunities
• Perform calculations and data analysis on mechanical systems and components
• Help with testing and validation to ensure designs meet performance requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Recent 2025 or 2026 graduate eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program
• Minimum GPA of 2.8 (or equivalent)
• UAE National with a family book, as only UAE nationals are considered under Emiratisation and UAE labour law
