Graduate Piping Engineer

About the role

Technip Energies is looking for a Graduate Piping Engineer to report directly to the Head of the Department and join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role supports the Piping Engineering team in designing, analysing and developing piping systems for oil & gas, petrochemical, energy and industrial projects, giving practical experience in engineering design, international codes and standards, project execution and multidisciplinary coordination under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing piping design deliverables such as layouts, material specifications, isometrics and engineering calculations.
• Support the development of piping plans, sections and detailed engineering drawings.
• Take part in piping routing studies covering safety, operability, maintainability and constructability.
• Perform basic calculations such as line sizing, pressure drop and material take-offs under supervision.
• Review vendor documentation for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Help prepare technical reports, engineering documents and project progress updates.
• Support Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and datasheets.
• Take part in HAZOP, model reviews and interdisciplinary design review meetings.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and HSE requirements, and keep project documentation and engineering records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience).
• Basic knowledge of piping engineering principles and industry codes and standards.
• Familiarity with oil & gas, petrochemical or energy projects is an advantage.
• English at a professional or fluent level.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API and other relevant piping codes and standards.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), E3D, PDMS or similar design software.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of stress analysis and materials selection is advantageous.
