Head of Art - Yasmina British Academy (Term 2 Start)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Head of Art for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in Term 2 2027. The post covers teaching, lesson planning, assessment and pastoral support, and works within the department team. The school follows the British curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and plan sessions that meet the curriculum requirements and the Learning and Teaching Policy.
• Observe and assess children in line with the Assessment Policy, and use assessment data to inform planning and intervention.
• Record student progress in the school's designated assessment system and give feedback to parents at conferences and other meetings.
• Manage classes effectively, follow the Behaviour Policy and act as a positive role model.
• Work with parents and carers, and run a weekly ECA each term.
• Support the department team with planning, assessment, resources and special events, and take part in school events, outings and activities.
• Act as a form tutor and support the pastoral needs of students.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
• Experience in more than one international school is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills, resilience under pressure and commitment to CPD.

Required skills

• Clear understanding of the British curriculum.
• Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum.
• Graphic design experience is highly beneficial.
