Healthcare Aide – Women’s Outpatient Department

About the role

The Healthcare Aide will support physicians, nurses and other professionals in the Women’s Outpatient Department, ensuring safe, efficient and patient‑centered care for women attending clinics. This role involves assisting with patient flow, maintaining a clean clinical environment and providing comfort throughout each visit.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with registration, clinic flow and appointment coordination.
• Escort patients to examination and treatment rooms as required.
• Prepare consultation and examination rooms before and after patient visits.
• Measure and record basic vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight).
• Support nurses and physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity and comfort at all times.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and clinical areas according to infection‑control standards.
• Stock and replenish medical supplies, linens and consumables.
• Transport specimens, documents and equipment within the department.
• Assist patients with mobility needs and provide support during investigations or procedures.
• Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse or physician.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation as delegated.
• Provide patient education materials and direct patients to appropriate services as instructed.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Healthcare Assistance, Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or a related healthcare field (preferred).
• Ability to measure and record basic vital signs accurately.
• Strong attention to infection‑prevention and cleanliness standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff.
