Heavy Equipment Service Technician

About the role

CDHorizon is looking for a safety‑focused Heavy Equipment Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot and repair earthmoving machinery across the UAE. The role combines workshop duties with on‑site field service to keep excavators, bulldozers, loaders and graders operating at peak performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis and major repairs on a range of heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and power‑train faults using schematics and diagnostic software.
• Overhaul engines, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic pumps and undercarriage components; conduct welding and fabrication as needed.
• Provide on‑site emergency support, communicate findings to customers and ensure timely parts availability.
• Document all service actions, maintain maintenance logs and support warranty claims.

Required profile

• Diploma, ITI or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology or Automotive Engineering.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience servicing excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders and graders, preferably with brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Liebherr or JCB.
• Valid UAE driving licence; physical fitness for workshop and field conditions.

Required skills

• Cutting and fabrication techniques.
• Welding proficiency.
• Undercarriage inspection and wear measurement.
• Electronic systems diagnostics and use of software such as Caterpillar ET or Komatsu KOMTRAX.
• Workshop tooling and diagnostic equipment operation.
