High School Art Teacher (August 2027)

About the role

Dubai American Academy, GEMS Education's flagship American curriculum school in the UAE, is welcoming expressions of interest from experienced High School Art Teachers for positions starting in August 2027. It is particularly keen to hear from American curriculum and/or IB educators who are passionate about academic excellence and inspiring confident, curious learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, interactive art lessons to high school students following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that inspire a love of art and foster critical thinking.
• Collaborate with colleagues to build a positive, supportive learning environment and ensure continuity of curriculum delivery.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and foster an inclusive classroom culture.
• Take part in parent-teacher conferences and keep parents informed about student progress.
• Contribute to school life through enrichment opportunities and professional learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, state license or equivalent in Art.
• Proven experience teaching Art at high school level, ideally in an American or IB curriculum school.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and good relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

• Knowledge of inquiry-based learning and practical art instruction.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of teaching practice.
