High School Computer Science Teacher (August start)

About the role

Dubai American Academy, the flagship American curriculum school of GEMS Education, is seeking outstanding High School Computer Science Teachers to join the school from August 2027. The role involves delivering engaging Computer Science lessons to high‑school learners within an American and IB curriculum framework.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver interactive Computer Science lessons following the school curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that inspire a love for Computer Science and foster critical thinking.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and ensure continuity of curriculum delivery.
• Maintain open communication with parents through conferences and progress updates.
• Contribute to school life through enrichment activities and professional learning.

Required profile

• Hold a Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, State License) specialising in Computer Science.
• Proven experience teaching Computer Science at High School level, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Strong knowledge of inquiry‑based learning and practical Computer Science instruction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
