High School Computer Science Teacher

About the role

Dubai American Academy, GEMS Education’s flagship American‑curriculum school, is seeking outstanding High School Computer Science Teachers to join the faculty from August 2027. The role is ideal for educators experienced in the American or IB curriculum who are passionate about fostering curiosity and critical thinking in secondary students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, inquiry‑based Computer Science lessons to high‑school learners.
• Design and implement creative teaching strategies that inspire a love for computing.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and communicate student progress.
• Contribute to school life through enrichment activities and professional learning communities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education or an initial degree with a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, State License, or equivalent) specialising in Computer Science.
• Proven experience teaching Computer Science at the high‑school level, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Strong knowledge of inquiry‑based learning and practical Computer Science instruction.
