Homeroom Teacher

About the role

Nibras International School is looking for a homeroom teacher. The role centres on setting high expectations for pupils, planning and delivering well-structured lessons, adapting teaching to individual needs and managing behaviour so that pupils learn safely and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations, create a safe and respectful environment and plan teaching that builds on pupils' prior knowledge
• Teach with sound subject knowledge, promote literacy and correct use of Standard English, and adapt teaching to pupils' needs, including those with special educational needs, English as an additional language and disabilities
• Plan and deliver well-structured lessons, set homework when appropriate and reflect on teaching effectiveness
• Assess pupils formally and informally, use data to monitor progress and give regular feedback
• Manage behaviour with clear rules and routines, and maintain good relationships with pupils
• Use ICT to enhance teaching and learning, contribute to departmental discussions and plan after-school activities
• Keep open, confidential communication with parents and support the school's community partnerships

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the teaching subject
• 2 years of teaching experience in a school
• Commitment to safeguarding, diversity, equity and inclusion, and adherence to school policies
