Homeroom Teacher - Primary School

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Homeroom Teacher for Al Rayana Charter School in Abu Dhabi, starting in January 2027. The school follows an American curriculum, is mixed gender and primary, and sits in a modern building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be closely aligned with the school's core values and ethos.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring lessons that meet curriculum requirements and cater to the whole ability range in the class
• Plan engaging sessions, organize classroom provision and learning resources, and create displays
• Assess and record student progress using Target Tracker, and use assessment data to inform planning and intervention
• Give feedback to parents and carers at parent-teacher conferences and other meetings
• Manage the class effectively, follow the school's behaviour policy and act as a positive role model
• Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when needed
• Work with curriculum support staff, take part in curriculum action groups and school events, and run a weekly ECA each term
• Communicate with parents and carers about achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with PGCE or another teacher qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
• Enhanced DBS check or police clearance; must reside in the same emirate as the school
• References and police clearance are required before appointment
