Hostess - Five-Star Restaurant

About the role

Park Hyatt Dubai is looking for a Hostess for its restaurant. The role creates a warm, professional and personalized welcome for guests, manages reservations and seating, and supports the Food & Beverage team with five-star service etiquette.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests warmly and personally, maintaining five-star service etiquette.
• Manage reservations, table allocations, seating plans and waiting lists, considering guest preferences and operational needs.
• Escort guests to their tables and ensure menus, seating and table settings are ready.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of operating hours, menus, promotions, special events, dress codes and hotel facilities.
• Recognize returning guests, VIPs and special occasions and share relevant details discreetly with the service team.
• Coordinate with restaurant managers, supervisors, waiters, kitchen staff and other departments to manage guest flow.
• Monitor table availability and occupancy, giving guests realistic waiting times and updates during busy periods.
• Answer calls and handle reservation enquiries, amendments, cancellations and special requests.
• Handle initial guest feedback or concerns professionally, escalating to the supervisor or manager when needed.
• Keep the reception, entrance, menus, reservation records and hostess desk clean and organized.
• Support the Food & Beverage team with VIP requirements, celebrations and group reservations, and bid farewell to departing guests.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Service or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Hostess or in a guest-facing role, preferably in a five-star hotel, luxury resort or upscale restaurant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests from diverse nationalities and cultures.
• Professional appearance, good grooming, etiquette, attention to detail and a warm, guest-focused personality.
• Strong organization and multitasking ability, with flexibility to work under pressure across shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of restaurant reservations, seating arrangements and guest handling.
• Basic knowledge of Food & Beverage operations; experience with restaurant reservation systems is an advantage.
