Housekeeping Shift Leader

About the role

The Housekeeping Shift Leader oversees room attendants and public‑area staff to ensure the hotel meets its cleanliness and maintenance standards. You will coordinate daily tasks, support team training, and help achieve operational and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise room and public‑area attendants, conduct daily briefings and monitor performance.
• Prepare morning task assignments, turn‑down reports and follow‑up on special guest requests.
• Communicate with key hotel departments, handle lost‑property, laundry, flower orders and other guest services.
• Rotate across different housekeeping areas and shifts as needed, and lead by example in high‑cleaning tasks.

Required profile

• Previous minor supervisory experience in hotel housekeeping.
• Strong written and spoken English, warm demeanor and guest‑service orientation.
• Detail‑oriented, hands‑on, able to motivate and develop team members.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb stairs, walk long periods and work in all weather conditions.

Required skills

• Computer literacy; familiarity with hotel property management systems such as Opera is an advantage.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coaching and problem solving.
