HSE Manager - Construction

About the role

Careers International is recruiting an HSE Manager in Abu Dhabi for the construction sector. The manager develops, implements and maintains safety programmes and policies so that all construction sites remain safe and healthy, works with site supervisors and project managers to build a safety culture, and ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update and enforce safety policies and site-specific plans, including emergency response and evacuation procedures, in line with OSHA and other regulations.
• Inspect sites regularly, carry out safety audits and report findings with corrective action recommendations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.
• Organise safety training such as new-hire orientation, toolbox talks and specialised sessions, and keep training records.
• Lead investigations of accidents, incidents and near-misses and prepare reports with preventive measures.
• Promote a safety culture, communicate safety expectations and performance metrics, and maintain accurate safety records and performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction safety management.
• Proven experience working with ALDAR properties (must).
• Lead Auditor certification (must).
• Safety Engineering certification, NEBOSH and IOSH certifications.
