HSE Officer (Health, Safety & Environment)

About the role

The HSE Officer will support Bureau Veritas' Marine & Offshore operations in Abu Dhabi by ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are met across projects. You will drive continuous improvement of the HSE management system and promote a safe working culture.

Key responsibilities

• Promote awareness and effective implementation of the HSE system.
• Identify HSE training needs and deliver or coordinate training.
• Investigate incidents, accidents and hazards, produce reports and follow up on corrective actions.
• Manage issuance, monitoring and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on‑site.
• Maintain the departmental HSE register, documenting risks, impacts and control measures.
• Support project managers with JSA compliance, toolbox meetings and inspections.
• Record and document HSE‑related incidents and assist in achieving project HSE goals.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent education.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety field.
• NEBOSH, OSHA or similar HSE certification.
• First aid, emergency response and fire‑fighting training.
• Strong English communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, share knowledge and respect colleagues.
