HSE Supervisor (Commissioning)

About the role

The Commissioning / Pre-Commissioning HSE Supervisor works on the Hail & Ghasha project in Al Ruwais, UAE, under a rotational schedule of 60 days on site and 12 days off (paid). He or she reports to the Construction HSE Coordinator, or to the Site Manager when acting as the TCM HSE representative at site. The role ensures that field activities follow the TCM HSE policy, regulations, standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform job hazard analysis (JHA) and take part in job safety analysis (JSA)
• Check the adequacy and application of site HSE rules and procedures, and propose revisions
• Update HSE documentation during construction phases when needed
• Check that subcontractors follow HSE procedures and regulations
• Organise and take part in periodic HSE walk-arounds, inspections and audits, and follow up corrective actions
• Coordinate and take part in HSE training and site HSE meetings, and prepare minutes
• Cooperate with the client on work permits and investigate accidents, keeping accident records
• Lead the site HSE committee and the emergency response and fire prevention teams, including drills
• Prepare the HSE section of monthly progress reports and site HSE statistics

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent
• At least 10 years of HSE experience in commissioning projects or operations in oil & gas or petrochemical industries
• Experience on three major EPC projects in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors
• NEBOSH GC / IGC certificate
