HVDC Tender Technical Manager

About the role

The Tender Engineering Manager leads the overall technical coordination and management during the tender phase of large or complex projects, which may include HVDC technology on offshore platforms and require collaboration with stakeholders worldwide. Acting as the HVDC Technical Bid Leader, the role is the primary technical point of contact with the customer, ensuring technical deliverables meet deadlines, stay within budget and align with customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical coordination and management of the tendering phase of HVDC projects and serve as the main contact for the customer
• Ensure the technical tender design meets deadlines and quality standards
• Coordinate the global schedule of tender engineering activities, implement engineering processes and oversee technical coordination across work packages
• Select safe, reliable, cost-effective and easy-to-install solutions and deliver the required documentation on schedule
• Estimate the engineering budget and develop the execution engineering design strategy with the Regional Technical Tendering Leader and Regional Engineering Leader
• Manage the project from execution (Order to Remittance) and coordinate Functional Engineering Leaders and Project Engineers from similar past projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in HVDC systems, FACTS, industrial and renewable sectors
• Mandatory experience in the HVDC/Grid solution integration industry
• Strong written and spoken English
• Willingness to travel worldwide up to 20% or more of the time

Required skills

• Knowledge of standards and codes such as IEC 62351, IEEE 1588, IEEE 802, IEEE 1402, IEC 62501 and NERC CIP
• Desirable: civil works, plant engineering, control and protection hardware, system and performance studies, electrical design
