Instrumentation & Automation Engineer for Sewage Treatment Plant

About the role

The Instrumentation & Automation Engineer will lead the supervision, monitoring and execution of all instrumentation, control, automation, PLC, SCADA and testing & commissioning activities for a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve design documents, IFC drawings, specifications, control philosophies, instrument datasheets and shop drawings.
• Supervise installation, calibration, testing and commissioning of field instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, pH, DO, turbidity, chlorine, etc.) and control equipment (actuated, control and motorised valves).
• Coordinate instrumentation works with civil, mechanical, electrical, process and MEP disciplines.
• Monitor PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU and control system programming, graphics, alarms, trends and communication interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality requirements, project specifications, approved drawings and international standards.
• Manage testing and commissioning activities, including FAT, SAT, loop checking, functional testing and verification of communications between PLC, SCADA, MCCs, VFDs and analyzers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Control Systems or related field.
• 10‑15 years of experience in instrumentation, control, automation and SCADA systems.
• At least 5 years of experience on Sewage, Wastewater or Water Treatment Plant projects.
• Proven experience in installation, testing, commissioning and operation of PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, MCC, VFD and process instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and Dubai Municipality requirements.
