Intensive Care Junior Consultant – Government Healthcare Facility

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Junior Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join a government healthcare facility in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering high‑quality critical care to adult patients with life‑threatening and complex medical conditions within a multidisciplinary ICU environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, stabilize and manage critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Provide comprehensive care for respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, renal, infectious and multisystem conditions.
• Manage medical emergencies such as sepsis, shock and respiratory failure.
• Perform and assist with critical‑care procedures within the approved scope of practice.
• Operate mechanical ventilation and other advanced respiratory support devices.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and deliver appropriate cardiovascular support.
• Participate in resuscitation, emergency response and on‑call duties.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, anesthesia, surgery, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, infectious disease and other specialties.
• Communicate with patients’ families regarding diagnosis, treatment and goals of care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency or specialist training program in Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Care, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or a related field.
• Post‑specialization clinical experience of 2–3 years in intensive or critical care.
• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine/Intensive Care (American Board or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Eligibility to obtain UAE medical licensing and credentialing.
