International Senior Advisor – Rubella Vaccine Introduction

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking an International Senior Advisor to lead the introduction of rubella‑containing vaccine (RCV) across priority countries in Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean. This consultancy provides high‑level technical and strategic leadership to accelerate RCV rollout and support the Measles & Rubella Country Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Guide national health authorities and partners in developing and implementing evidence‑based RCV introduction plans.
• Coordinate with the Measles and Rubella Partnership to align country activities with the Immunization Agenda 2030.
• Provide strategic advice on resource mobilization, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor progress, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions to ensure timely vaccine introduction.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building among regional stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in immunization programs, vaccine introduction, or public‑health strategy at the regional or global level.
• Proven track record of senior‑level advisory or consultancy work with international organizations.
• Strong understanding of the Measles & Rubella Strategic Framework 2021‑2030.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with governments, NGOs, and donors.
