IT Coordinator

About the role

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah is seeking a detail‑oriented, service‑focused IT Coordinator to act as the primary liaison between the Office of Information Technology and university end‑users. Reporting to the IT Manager, the role oversees daily IT operations, HelpDesk management and supports hardware, software and network services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the IT HelpDesk ticketing system: record, assign, monitor and close tickets within agreed service levels.
• Provide direct technical assistance to faculty, staff and students, and create self‑service knowledge‑base articles.
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, consumables and IT assets, and monitor licenses and warranties.
• Prepare documentation, presentations, meeting minutes and support procurement requests.
• Collect and analyse IT performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in IT support, HelpDesk management or related operations.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Proficiency with office productivity applications.
• Basic networking concepts.
• Experience with software licensing and IT documentation.
• IT asset and inventory management.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems.
