About the role
The Junior Sous Chef will support kitchen operations at Mina's Kitchen by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients, chop, wash, peel, and store fresh produce.
- Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Cook food using ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
- Test cooked foods for doneness and monitor quality throughout preparation.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
- Follow company safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety training.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen experience.
Required skills
- Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning, weighing, and mixing.
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety standards.
