Lecturer (Cyber Security)

About the role

The Lecturer in Cyber Security at the Ras Al Khaimah campus teaches, develops curriculum, conducts research and engages with students in information security, network security, ethical hacking and cryptography. The role prepares students for industry careers and fosters industry collaboration to keep pace with evolving cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures and hands-on labs in ethical hacking, malware analysis and incident response
• Mentor students on research projects, hackathons and industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH and CISM
• Engage in scholarly work, publish in reputable journals and supervise postgraduate research
• Build links with government and private firms for student internships and guest sessions
• Take part in departmental reviews, accreditation processes and student recruitment

Required profile

• Master's or Ph.D. in Cyber Security, IT or Computer Science
• 3 to 5 years of relevant teaching or industry experience (e.g. penetration testing, security analysis)
• Industry certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISM or CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in security tools such as firewalls, IDS and encryption protocols
