Maintenance Engineer - Woodworking Factory

About the role

Faham's factory in Dubai Investments Park produces doors, closets and joinery for homes and projects across the UAE. It is looking for a Maintenance Engineer who owns machine uptime and reliability, is comfortable with PLC programming and can handle breakdowns on the shop floor. The engineer keeps production machinery safe, reliable and available through preventive and predictive maintenance, fast breakdown recovery and hands-on PLC troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run the preventive maintenance plan for production machines, dust extraction, compressors and utilities
• Diagnose and fix PLC, HMI, drive and sensor faults on CNC, edge-banding, pressing and finishing lines
• Lead breakdown response and run root cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone) for permanent fixes
• Track MTBF, MTTR, downtime, OEE and PM compliance
• Manage critical spares, OEM service providers and contractors
• Enforce LOTO, permit-to-work and machine guarding, and lead maintenance technicians across shifts
• Support new machinery installation, commissioning and CAPEX decisions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
• 5+ years in industrial maintenance, ideally in woodworking, furniture or panel manufacturing
• Experience maintaining CNC machines, edge banders, presses or similar automated lines
• Proven use of maintenance KPIs to drive decisions

Required skills

• Hands-on PLC troubleshooting and programming: Siemens S7 / TIA Portal essential; Allen-Bradley or Beckhoff an advantage
• Nice to have: CMMS experience, condition monitoring (vibration, thermography), pneumatics, hydraulics and dust extraction knowledge, valid UAE driving licence, Arabic or Hindi/Urdu
