Marine Inspector

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Marine Inspector to join its team on a civil marine engineering mega-project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves tackling engineering challenges alongside a highly professional construction supervision team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of marine works such as revetments, seawalls and quay walls
• Ensure construction activities follow approved drawings, specifications and design standards, and monitor workmanship
• Identify and report deviations, defects or discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Review shop drawings and inspect reinforcement steel (rebar) placement for spacing, alignment and anchorage
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and project managers on structural issues
• Witness and verify tests such as concrete compressive strength, rebar tensile tests and soil compaction tests
• Promote safe practices during handling and construction of marine and structural components
• Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare reports for the project team

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in marine work
• Experience in civil construction on large projects in the marine environment; GCC experience is an advantage

Required skills

• Structural construction, marine works, excavation and backfill, pile/foundation installation, beach formation, rock revetment, quay walls and concrete installation
• Dredging operations and piling installation (driven concrete piles, pipe piles, sheet piles, combi walls)
• Stockpile management and onsite trucking management
• Mass excavation and backfilling on the sea
• Desired: extensive knowledge of supervisory functions and sound communication and teamwork skills
