Mechanical Draughtsman – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Draughtsman to produce accurate mechanical drawings for oil & gas and industrial construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role supports Mechanical Engineers by creating detailed piping, equipment, and support layouts, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret contract drawings, design documents and specifications in coordination with Mechanical Engineers.
• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings – piping layouts, equipment arrangements, GA, pipe supports, isometrics and spool drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop shop, construction and as‑built drawings based on approved IFC drawings and site conditions.
• Coordinate drawings with Civil, Structural, E&I, Piping and other disciplines to guarantee constructability and proper clearances.
• Incorporate consultant, client, PMC and vendor comments, manage revisions and resubmit for approval.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision control and document management according to project procedures.
• Support material take‑offs, layout preparation and drawing indexes as required.
• Provide technical drafting guidance to junior draughtsmen.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in mechanical drafting within oil & gas, industrial or EPC construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of international piping codes and project specifications.
• Ability to manage multiple drafting tasks while meeting schedule and quality standards.
