Mechanical Inspector - Building Construction

About the role

AECOM is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Inspector - Mechanical to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. You will carry out comprehensive mechanical inspections on building construction projects, making sure all work meets specifications, building codes and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical work on building projects, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical mechanical components and related installations
• Check compliance with approved drawings, specifications and building codes and regulations
• Analyze findings, identify defects and non-conformances, and document results with photos and recommendations
• Report findings to project managers, contractors and stakeholders and coordinate remediation and re-inspection
• Maintain inspection records, logs and documentation, and perform quality checks before handover
• Keep up with building codes, mechanical standards and industry best practices, and collaborate with other inspectors and project teams

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical inspection or quality assurance on building construction projects
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience on large-scale construction projects and knowledge of UAE building codes and standards
• Relevant inspection certification or license preferred

Required skills

• Knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC and plumbing
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Hands-on use of inspection tools such as pressure gauges, thermometers and multimeters
• Construction management software and digital documentation familiarity preferred
