Mechanical Inspector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our team for a construction project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising, monitoring and inspecting all contractor activities on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect contractor work on site against shop drawings, method statements and ITPs.
• Verify site conditions and compatibility with designed permanent works before construction starts.
• Document existing property conditions and ensure protection of structures, utilities and landscaping.
• Review delivered materials for conformance with approved samples and report any discrepancies.
• Inspect construction of temporary and permanent works for compliance with contract documents.
• Attend to inspection requests from the contractor and take timely action.
• Review shop drawings against contract specifications, local codes and international best practice.
• Monitor quality, safety, health and environmental aspects on site and prepare daily logs and reports.
• Prepare surveillance and non‑conformance reports, and ensure effective coordination between disciplines.
• Assist with start‑up, testing, commissioning and handover of works.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 3 years in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of building construction materials, systems and trade practices.
• Proficiency with computer software and ability to communicate clearly with management and staff.
• Commitment to safe work practices and ability to assess site safety.
