Mechanical Technician - Generator Repair

About the role

Aggreko is looking for a Mechanical Technician based in Dubai who reports to the Lead Technician. You will be responsible for the refurbishment, repair and maintenance of Aggreko equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Repair Aggreko products according to standard work instructions and quality control documentation, following the production schedule, quality, health and safety and cost targets.
• Fault find, diagnose and validate Aggreko products, and program and fault find engine and generator controllers.
• Complete service documentation in line with Aggreko process maps and ensure equipment is ready for hire under the Green Card procedure.
• Minimise downtime and unnecessary repair costs through effective troubleshooting.
• Use air tools, hand tools, torque tools, overhead cranes, lifting and slinging equipment and measuring equipment.
• Take part in continuous improvement projects, escalate quality issues, keep the work area safe and tidy, and report fuel spills and incidents under QHSE policy.

Required profile

• Experience with gas and diesel engines and generators.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with strong knowledge of service and repair methods and assembly of mechanical systems.
• Experience operating and maintaining diesel/gas generators and their auxiliaries.
• Hands-on experience with Cummins and Scania engines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings; electrical wiring experience is desirable but not essential.
• Good verbal communication, strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
