MEP Mechanical Engineer

About the role

IRTH is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its MEP supervision team for construction projects in Dubai. The engineer inspects and monitors mechanical installations to ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), project specifications, approved drawings and international standards, supporting project delivery through quality control, site inspections, testing verification and coordination with contractors and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical systems: HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing and drainage, water supply, fire fighting, LPG (where applicable), pump rooms and mechanical equipment.
• Review inspection requests and carry out inspections promptly.
• Verify compliance with approved shop drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor installation quality, raise observations and NCRs and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, reports and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Witness pressure testing, flushing, balancing, testing and commissioning.
• Support review of material submittals and mechanical technical documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5-8 years of UAE experience in mechanical inspection and supervision.
• Mandatory experience on Dubai Municipality and Dubai Civil Defence regulated projects.
• Experience in hospitality, residential high-rise, commercial or mixed-use developments.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire fighting systems.
• Knowledge of DM, DCD and local authority inspection procedures.
• Ability to review mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills, and good coordination and communication.
