Performance Engineer – Benchmarking

About the role

We are seeking a Performance Engineer specialized in benchmarking to join a forward‑thinking engineering team in the United Arab Emirates. In this role you will design, build, and continuously improve benchmarking and load‑testing systems that help product teams measure, understand, and optimise complex distributed applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain benchmarking, profiling, and load‑testing platforms across cloud infrastructure, databases, and end‑to‑end environments.
• Create benchmark suites and reference workloads that reflect real‑world customer usage and evolve with product releases.
• Establish performance baselines, regression detection mechanisms, and measurement frameworks to ensure reliable results.
• Transform benchmark data into actionable insights, including regression triage, ownership routing, and reproducible performance reports.
• Collaborate with database, infrastructure, and product engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and drive measurable performance improvements.
• Enable teams to run performance tests independently and integrate benchmarking into development workflows.
• Improve reliability of load generators, benchmark environments, profiling processes, and analysis methods.
• Communicate credible performance metrics internally and externally through repeatable measurement practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in performance engineering, benchmarking, and profiling of complex distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience building reproducible, accurate benchmarking systems with tight variance control.
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, including databases, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to analyse performance issues, identify root causes, and propose practical technical solutions.
• Comfortable collaborating across product, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical findings and recommendations.
