Planning Engineer – UAE National (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a highly talented Planning Engineer who is an UAE national to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role supports the Stormwater DMT Technical Advisory Program, contributing to the design and resilience of stormwater networks, pumping stations, and outfalls.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain project schedules for stormwater advisory assignments using approved scheduling tools.
• Prepare schedule status reports, progress updates, and staffing/resource curves.
• Identify schedule variances and potential risks, supporting senior staff in recovery or mitigation actions.
• Coordinate with engineering and project management teams to collect accurate schedule data.
• Assist in preparing and updating cost control systems and basic cost reports under senior guidance.
• Perform arithmetic and consistency checks on cost reporting documentation.
• Create graphs, diagrams, and exhibits for internal reporting and presentations.
• Implement project controls procedures and templates in line with Parsons and client requirements.
• Maintain organized records of schedules, reports, and project controls documentation.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of experience in project controls, planning/scheduling, or construction/infrastructure projects; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Experience in the UAE infrastructure sector (stormwater, water, wastewater, or municipal services) is an advantage but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Exposure to scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
