PMC Permit Coordinator (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Permit Coordinator with a proven track record in the Oil and Gas Engineering industry, based in Abu Dhabi. The role supervises and controls the Permit to Work (PTW) system so that all site work is authorised, risk-assessed and carried out safely in line with ADNOC HSE standards, project procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the issuance, monitoring and closure of work permits for construction and maintenance activities, in line with ADNOC PTW procedures and project HSE requirements
• Verify that risk assessments, method statements and safety documents are attached before permit approval
• Control simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and coordinate with construction, operations, HSE and contractor teams before permit issuance
• Conduct site verification, identify conflicting permits or hazardous activities, and stop work if unsafe conditions are found
• Check isolation certificates, gas testing results and safety precautions before issuing permits
• Supervise permit office operations, maintain permit registers and logs, and monitor permit validity, suspension, extension or cancellation
• Inspect high-risk activities such as hot work, confined space entry, excavation, lifting operations and electrical isolation
• Provide PTW system training and guidance to contractors and project personnel, and support ADNOC HSE policy implementation
• Prepare daily permit reports and activity logs, and report violations, safety issues and incidents to the HSE Manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related discipline)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas onshore projects
• At least 5 years' experience as Permit Issuer / Area Authority
• Strong experience on ADNOC Onshore projects is mandatory
• ADNOC Permit to Work (PTW) Issuer / Area Authority certification
• H2S awareness; IOSH / NEBOSH (preferred); First Aid and Fire Fighting
