Procurement Engineer - Construction

About the role

The Procurement Engineer manages procurement for construction projects, sourcing materials, services and subcontract packages on time and in line with project requirements, budgets and schedules. The role supports vendor management, cost control and compliance with company policies, working closely with project teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Verify material quantities and approval status with Project Managers and Engineering teams, and manage site material requisitions with required approvals
• Prepare RFQs/RFIs, obtain at least three quotations and perform price analysis and cost evaluations
• Issue Local Purchase Orders within approved procedures and authorization limits, and prepare reports on completed packages and closed invoices
• Research and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors, coordinate timely deliveries and lead commercial negotiations
• Maintain databases of materials, suppliers and subcontractors, keep procurement records accurate in ERP systems and generate status and cost reports
• Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Planning, Finance and Stores teams, support the Senior Procurement Engineer and ensure compliance with policies and contracts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
• 5+ years of procurement experience in the construction industry
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Familiarity with local construction markets, supplier networks and authority requirements

• SAP ERP or similar procurement/ERP systems
• Vendor management, material sourcing and contract negotiation
