Project Engineer - Pipe Fabrication

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Project Engineer in Abu Dhabi to oversee the planning, design, fabrication, installation and completion of pipe fabrication projects. The engineer ensures compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients, architects and stakeholders to define project requirements and take part in conceptual and detailed design of pipe systems in line with codes and specifications.
• Prepare project plans, schedules and budgets, and coordinate material procurement with procurement teams.
• Oversee fabrication processes, monitor progress and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely completion.
• Implement quality control, perform inspections and tests, and work with QA personnel to resolve non-conformities.
• Manage timelines, resources and budgets, give regular updates to stakeholders and identify and mitigate risks.
• Oversee installation of pipe systems with construction teams and contractors, and carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Maintain design drawings, fabrication records and as-built documentation, and produce progress reports and final summaries.
• Enforce HSE protocols and mitigate safety hazards during fabrication and installation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven project engineering experience, preferably in pipe fabrication.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations for pipe fabrication.
• Familiarity with various metallurgies, non-destructive examination methods, heat treatment, paint and welding procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, pipe systems and fabrication techniques.
• Proficiency in computer skills such as AutoCAD, Outlook, Word, Excel and JD Edwards is a plus.
