Project Engineer / Programmer - Smart Home Technology

About the role

Careers International is looking for an experienced Project Engineer / Programmer to join its team in Dubai. The role oversees the installation and implementation of smart home technology systems in luxury residential projects, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across lighting and curtain control, audio-video systems, home theater setups, networking, multi-room audio, CCTV, HVAC and integrated home automation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the installation of smart home technology systems in luxury residential projects.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers and clients to align installations with project specifications and design requirements.
• Program and configure smart home devices and systems, including lighting controls (Lutron, Crestron, KNX), audio-video systems, home theater solutions, networking infrastructure, CCTV, HVAC controls and automation platforms (Control4, Savant, Crestron).
• Test and troubleshoot systems so they meet client expectations.
• Train and support clients on the use and maintenance of installed systems.
• Work with the sales team to give technical advice during pre-sales consultations and project planning.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and product innovations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience installing, programming and commissioning smart home systems, especially in luxury residential settings.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects and prioritise tasks.
• Certifications such as CEDIA or manufacturer-specific ones are a plus.
